The report synthesizes activities conducted according to the plan outlined in the project proposal: Imaginative Education for school inclusion of students with special needs: focus on ADHD. Training activities in pilot counties.

All activities were designed in consonance within the project Imaginative Education for school inclusion of students with special needs: focus on ADHD (2006-2009), initiated and conducted by and under the coordination of IERG – Simon Fraser University, Eli Lilly Romania and School Inspectorate of Bucharest Municipality. The project was designed, coordinated and implemented by Nadia Tarnoveanu, Stefan Popenici and Ciprian Fartusnic.

Training activities materials for teachers and school inspectors were designed, planned and conducted during the year of 2008 in 4 different cities in Romania, with financial support provided by Eli Lilly Romania and IERG. Training activities used curriculum support materials designed by project coordinators in the first trimester of 2008. The project was implemented in partnership with local school inspectorates, IERG - SFU, Canada, Institute of Educational Sciences - Romania (partnership agreement 974/04.09.2006), City Hall Sector 6, and Bucharest

School Administration (decision 333/05.10.2006) and Didactica Publishing

House.

The project started by designing new teaching materials, presentations, curriculum support documents for ADHD students and a training course textbook. Participants in the training sessions provided direct feedback and their ideas were used for a book focused on imaginative education and classroom management for hyperactive students. More than 150 experts were trained on implementing alternative and inclusive educational strategies for ADHD students.
