Who is funding LUCID?

funding.jpgIn 1999, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) launched Community-University Research Alliance (CURA), as a means of encouraging collaboration among community organizations and university researchers on issues of mutual concern. In November 2003, LUCID was awarded just under one million dollars from this program over five years (subject to midterm review). This funding is being used to cover the salaries of the seconded educators/project leaders in the district, graduate and post-doctorate students, and research assistant stipends, release time for teachers, travel expenses for local and SFU staff, supplies and other research expenditures. The university, school districts, and First Nation partners will supply facilities, additional staff time, and other forms of support.
