Partnerships

LUCID involves several partnerships between the SFU Faculty of Education and three B.C. communities: Stó:lõ , Haida , and Tsimshian First Nations communities within the Chilliwack , Haida Gwaii/Queen Charlotte and Prince Rupert school districts.

Within each district, District Advisory committies and Project Leaders provide teachers with support and information on the project. The teachers and project leaders are further supported and guided by the SFU research team led by Mark Fettes, the project director, and a research team including, Kieran Egan, Sean Blenkinsop and various graduate students

This collaboration will be the basis of the continued multi-phased research project which includes teacher’s guide and training of concepts related to imaginative education, in-class support for practical development of imaginative lesson plans and the further training and involvement of additional teachers within the districts to engage in imaginative education within their classroom, supported and guided through teacher development programs.
